WoW - polished af, best PvE there is, if you're actually new then there is years and years worth of content, especially if you're into collecting shit. Some people might have a more favourable view of ARR content after having context and understanding how the puzzle pieces connect together 8 years down the line, but going into it with no context or assurance anything will matter just made it a tedious experience when initially going through it. Grinding through boring stuff at the beginning of the game is not that inspiring. But after we made it through we ended up finishing everything. MSQ is mandatory so if you don’t enjoy yourself don’t push it I guess.Īnd to be honest, for myself and a couple of friends, it legitimately took us years to get to Heavensward (try to play, quit before finishing ARR, rinse repeat). If you’re not looking for story or story delivered with a long build up it might not be what you’re looking for. I’d say if you are interested in game stories (especially JRPGs or other FF games) then it’s worth to at least give it a chance up to 60 where it “gets good” and you can get a gauge.

It is almost always said that finishing the free trial (up to post-Heavensward lvl 60 patch content) is the point where you can see the games trajectory in terms of story, most of ARR (1-50) is pretty dry worldbuilding and not particularly interesting. I don’t think I can make any real statements on whether it gets good enough for you to enjoy later on since you are only Lvl 17 and I don’t think anything is supposed to make much sense or have much impact at that level. The story does get much better as are the production values on how content is delivered.
